Every fourth Saturday in the month Transition will be running a ‘Make do and mend’ session.
The opening workshop started this Saturday….

We were blessed with glorious sunshine to start Taunton Transition Town’s make do and mend sessions….
People had a chance to bring along their bikes and fix all those niggly problems. Sharing skills and knowledge with just the help from others. It’s surprising what a few heads and some bike oil can do!
Here are a few useful links about bike repairs:
Let us know if you have any really good resources for bike repair.

This was an opportunity to come along and maybe learn a new skill…. or teach someone else; whether it is crocheting, knitting, or just making new objects from the discarded and broken – it is amazing what you can do. At this session people had the opportunity to learn crochet, try some paper-making or try their hand at bike repair.

Come along and rejuvanate you skills and stuff! Learn sustainable practices in a friendly environment. Find practical solution and alternatives to consumer culture. Join your community and unleash your creativity, saving money and the environment. Bring along your mending pile, broken jewellery, glass jars, plastic milk bottles, old clothes, broken crockery, old newspapers, plastic bags and odd socks. Make treasure from old rubbish! Even come along and give your bike a new lease of life (grease provided).
Come along and share your expertise or learn from others next time! Look out for details here!
