Have you heard about forest gardening? It is a way of producing food by using all the height levels from the tree canopy to the ground covering plants and everything inbetween.  Bedfellows with permaculture it seeks to let you the gardener grow abundant food with the minimal fuss and bother – you just need to change your diet a little!

Radio 4’s excellent food programme recently showcased Mark Diacono’s Otter Farm  – a prime example of the forest garden style using perennial vegetables and fruits.  Also present was forest gardening guru Patrick Whitefield. Hear the broadcast here –
