Inside LEAF 2

More news!  Last Friday, TTT got together with members of our sister group, the Deane Energy Savers to do some training with the Centre for Sustainable Energy to help us to door to door surveys on home energy efficiency.  FREEZING cold night and yet ten of us turned up, together with more bods from another group who also got LEAF, Quantock Eco, who are based in Bishops Lydeard.  So now we are primed to do some surveys to validate the computer modelling work about Taunton that CSE are doing.  If you live in any of the following streets, you might like to look out for our lovely vols who only want  ten minutes of your time in the next couple of weeks – Alma St, Ashley Rd, Belvedere Rd, Eastbourne Gate, Laburnum St, St Augustine St, Staplegrove Rd, Stephen St, Wellington Rd, Wessex Rd, and Winchester St.  See pic for their mugshots…..

And if you don’t get called on, do please complete the survey online by going to tinyurl.com/tauntonenergysurvey.   There is a prize draw for a heady £100 for the lucky winner….Image

The other big news is that we have selected the artists for our LEAF commission, and are really excited about it, not least because it can involve you.  We are delighted to be working with Tom Stubbs and Stephen Clarke of Somerset based Biggerhouse (www.biggerhouse.co.uk) who are just fab at making short films with people who have never touched technology before (as well as geeky people who are quite clued up).  Their proposal is to use our soon-to-arrive thermal imaging camera in open workshops to create five 60-second “thermalogues” – films that play with what the camera can do to illustrate how individuals look at/experience/feel about our relationship with energy.  They will make one of the films themselves, but will facilitate anyone else who wants to take part to make the other four.  If that really lights up your eyes, then drop me an email NOW chrissie@visionjuice.com so I make sure you get first shout.

The workshops will be in March and booking for them will be via the Brewhouse – keep your eyes open here and elsewhere for more news on specific dates and how to get involved.
