North Curry Community Energy

Here is a chance to invest in the Solar project going on in North Curry.  This involves attempting to install up to 34 kW of solar panels on, potentially, four public buildings in the village.  There is still quite a bit to do to ensure that it all goes ahead as planned but fund-raising is going on apace; Brendon Energy of Wiveliscombe has issued a share offer to finance this plus another installation elsewhere.

There is still time to invest in this—it’ll earn 5% which is somewhat more than can be achieved elsewhere; they accept investments from £50- £100,000.  If you’re a tax-payer and put in at least £500 then it will qualify for the Enterprise Investment Scheme which can give a tax rebate of 30% of the amount you invested.

This share offer has only a limited time to run; money has to be in and cheques banked by next Thursday, 2nd April.  Payment can also be made online.

To obtain the application form you can log on to Brendon Energy at http://brendonenergy.org/new-share-offer-2015/ .  It’s necessary to print at least a part of the form to fill it in and sign it; if you have any trouble with this then we can help.

If you need to ask any further questions or need any help feel free to ring or email Brian Jeanes;  490623 or bandk@bkjeanes.co.uk.
