Calculating your Community’s Carbon Footprint

Take a look at the online tool that helps you understand your community’s carbon footprint. It works for parishes, wards and local authority areas.

https://impact-tool.org.uk/

It helps identify the areas where taking action to tackle climate change can make the biggest difference.

For example here is the breakdown of the average CO2 emissions per household for my local area in Taunton.

Compare that to a more rural area north of Taunton. There is more CO2 produced through transport and housing (more car travel and old leaky houses?)

The tool was designed by the Centre for Sustainable Energy and the University of Exeter to help you and your community to access, analyse and act on your community’s carbon footprint and to give you a better idea of where to target your efforts for the greatest impact in tackling the climate emergency.
