Success at the September Repair Cafe

We thank all of you for helping on Saturday. Without our repairers we could not provide this service.

We had another busy day and with only five repairers; we even had three customers waiting outside when we arrived at 10 am!!

Altogether 23 customers arrived (some with more than one item), but unfortunately we have to advise for 3 of these to return next time as we could not fit them in.

20 items were examined, including a chair that needing reglueing, which Rob, one of our new repairers, kindly offered to repair at home.

  • 5 items were not repairable.
  • 1 pair of scissors was sharpened.
  • 3 clothing items had sewing repairs.
  • 1 ornament was glued back together.
  • 9 electrical items were repaired: 3 radios, a CD player, a phone, an iron, an electric fan, a child’s music box and a challenging jammed shredder.

We received £50 in donations, so after paying for the hall and teas, we made £10 profit to put towards insurance costs and printing.

Remember that the next repair cafe is on Saturday 9th November – still at Moose hall for at least the next few months.
