The 17 customers that we know about brought in 23 items – one very lucky customer had 5 items for sewing plus a knife sharpened. The breakdown of successful repairs was:
- 8 electrical/mechanical, including severed cables on 2 hedge trimmers, radio, kettle, CD player, torch, tape recorder and curling tongs.
- 6 sewing repairs/alterations
- 1 sharpening of knife
- 1 remote control
2 items taken off site for completion – a broken plate by Vicky B and a CD player by Nev
Advice was given on 2 other items, but 3 electrical items were beyond repair.
We had a surprise visit from our local MP Gideon Amos who brought a CD Player to be repaired. Unfortunately Nev did not have enough time to make the repair but took it away to be repaired at home. So the total KG of CO2 saved should be much higher.

Thanks again to all our volunteer repairers who helped out at this event in the heat.
We have used the Repair Café Carbon Calculator once again developed by Steve Privett, Professor Martin Charter of Farnham Repair Café and the University for the Creative Arts (UCA) which calculates the KG of CO2 saved by repairing each item.
