Food, Inc

‘We can change the world with every bite’ Food inc.

If you saw this shocking movie on the mass industrialisation of food production make a change now. Taken from the Food, Inc site and given a British angle

  • Stop drinking carbonated and other sweetened beverages
  • Eat at home instead of eating out
  • Tell schools to stop selling carbonated drinks, junk food, and sports drinks
  • Meatless Mondays—Go without meat one day a week
  • Buy organic or sustainable food with little or no pesticides
  • Protect family farms; visit your local farmer’s market
  • Make a point to know where your food comes from—READ LABELS
  • Tell your MP that food safety is important to you
  • Demand job protections for farm workers and food processors, ensuring fair wages and other protections

You can also support a local community supported agriculture scheme to make you central to the planning and production of important local food.  Come along to the Sustainable Somerset event at Richard Huish College – 27 th March – 10am-5pm

  1. Hi there. Unfortunately missed Food Inc on Tuesday (despite having ticket :() – what’s the angle on carbonated drinks? We are big diet coke drinkers in our house… I’m doing all of the other stuff and instigated Meatfree Monday just this week 🙂
