Beautiful day for it today!  The thing I really love about our community gardening Saturdays (1st Sat of the month) is that lots of people stop to chat and find out what you are up to. We usually get people thanking us a lot for taking the time and trouble, which is nice feedback.  I harvested a load of broad beans from the Somerset Square site and gave them to a lovely lady sitting outside Olio e Farina – she was delighted!  

We also look after a site in Vivary Park, where the aviary used to be.  Vicky Briggs is our head gardener on that project and the bed is fantastic – a wild and woolly mix of medicinal and herbal perennials, making that corner of the park, with its trees and rough grass along the edge of the lake feel very natural.
